Simulator Training — What are the benefits

• Civic offers the new FLYIT Professional Helicopter Simulator
  • Cost
    • Simulator training with an instructor is about half the cost, per hour, of training in the real aircraft
    • Students will "learn" skills and maneuvers in the simulator and simply "polish" them in the helicopter...this saves money
  • Students can "log" their simulated flight training time
    • FAA approved for VFR & IFR flight training
    • 7.5 hours (20%) can be applied toward the Private (VFR) rating
    • 20 hours can be applied toward the Instrument rating
    • Up to 25 hours can be applied toward the Commercial rating
    • All additional simulator time is still log-able towards total "experience"
  • Currency training
    • Instrument pilots can remain current by completing and logging their required instrument flights as per FAR 61.57(c)
    • Instrument Proficiency Checks can be accomplished in the simulator
    • Instrument rated pilots no longer current or proficient can have a Civic Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII) bring them "back up to speed" and current
  • Flight scenery
    • The visual software within in the Simulator allows for training to occur at any airport or specific location in the world. Visiting students from other US states or foreign countries can train in "familiar" airspace with recognizable landmarks and other visible features

    • Not all simulators are created equal; most older and out-dated flight training devices seem more like torture and ar not fun to learn in
